It consists of a screw shaft, a nut, and a set of ball bearings. The screw shaft has a helical groove on its surface, and the nut has a matching helical groove. The ball bearings are placed in the helical grooves, and they roll between the screw shaft and the nut, thus converting the rotary motion of the screw shaft into linear motion of the nut. 2. Structure and working principle The basic structure of ball screw pair is shown in Figure 1. The screw shaft is supported by bearings, and it is rotated by a motor or other power source.
